Our Team Leader coordinates a team of local support workers to ensure we deliver high-quality support to our members. Their role includes training new support workers, communicating with the members in their areas, providing weekly training, and sharing information with out therapists.
Core to Ascend’s unparalleled standards of service is a commitment to employ only university students dedicated to studying health therapies as disability support workers/carers. Our experienced Team Leader supports these dedicated young students to bring a higher standard of care for people with disabilities.
My name is Caity and I'm an Occupational Therapy student at the University of the Sunshine Coast. I work a dual role as both Support Worker and Team Leader for the Sunshine Coast team of Ascend Health. I am a passionate carer, with a particular interest in promoting participation and engagement for my members. I love getting outdoors with walks and activities around the coast and I never shy away from trying a new activity or challenge.
Our team of support workers look for ways to help our members become more active in their community and to build their social networks. This is all part of our goal of helping people to become more independent.
